This is because it is a very strong wood. Tulipwood might also be used, but in our experience it has been over farmed and is too soft, hence our preference for Maple.
Another benefit of in-frame kitchen elements is that they are made bespoke to you. In-frame doors have to be made to perfectly slot into the frame of the cabinet, allowing for a flush fit.
