FAQ
Not at all. We’re happy to design and install any kitchen, regardless of its proportions.
This is very hard to say and depends on the scope of the project. When we get the go ahead on a project, we provide you with a schedule of works so you can clearly see what is happening each day and most importantly, when we will be finished.
We try to give you a full picture when we quote, right down to the cutlery inserts and drawer matting. We would rather give you the worst case scenario and eliminate fears over hidden extras. This might sometimes work against us when you are comparing different quotes, but we would rather be upfront from the get go.
Yes, we work closely with Miele and recommend their appliances. However, we are happy to help source other appliances if you so wish.
It will be Emily, owner of Park House Kitchens, who designs your kitchens and looks after you from initial consultation through to completion.
Our in-house fitter, Sean, will be there to install your kitchen and oversee our other tradesmen. Sean has a keen eye for detail and is a fantastic carpenter. He is a problem solver and will always go above and beyond to make sure you are happy.
We have two different ranges of cabinets; one is handmade locally by a bespoke joinery team. This is predominantly our in-frame product. We also have our excellent Callerton range which is manufactured in Sunderland and is also made to measure. Between these two suppliers, we feel we have a range that allows us to be as creative as we want and covers all bases in terms of style as well as quality.
Without wanting to get into too much detail here as it’s far easier to show you when you visit, with an in-frame kitchen, the door or drawer fronts sit within a frame that is fixed to the carcass. The doors will open via an exposed butt hinge. With a lay on, the whole door sits straight onto the carcass, attached with a modern soft-close hinge. These are two different products which also come in at two different price points. Our in-frame is handmade locally and is truly bespoke..
Don’t get us wrong, a spray painted factory finish is very good and certainly fit for purpose. But for us, a hand-painted finish is that little bit better both in terms of coverage and finish – you have the choice of the kind of finish you want to see, be it more matt or more satin. And probably the biggest benefit is that you can wait until the worktops are in to make a final call on colour – particularly helpful if you want to be a bit daring but don’t want the stress of having to commit at an early stage. We all know how easy it is to change our minds!
We’re based in Ockley, which is situated between Horsham and Dorking, on the Surrey and West Sussex border. We’re on Coles Lane on a converted farm just next to St. Margaret’s church.
Yes, we do offer a stand-alone design service for a fee. We understand that you might be at the very early stages of a large project and might not know what budget you have for your kitchen but still need to figure out the design. We hope that if we do this, you might still end up using us for your kitchen. So if you do end up going ahead with us, the cost of the design fee will be deducted.
We can advise you of the various sustainable options, whether that’s reselling, donating or recycling and can help you with the process. If you want to resell or donate this needs to be put in place in advance, ready to schedule with your installation so it’s good to discuss this once you have decided on your new Park House Kitchen.
